An advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan since 1992, Barrister Salman Akram Raja is a seasoned attorney, legal practicioner and one of the top lawyers and core members of PTI. He is experienced in legal practicioning, and law in all levels, primarily constitutional and administrative law. He has represented many clients in cases of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, the highest appelate court of the country. He has experience with dispute resolution, including in corporate, taxation, commercial banking, constitutional interpretation and competition law. He has extensive experience in constitutional and administrative law, having received his education from the University of Cambridge, Harvard Law School, School of Oriental and African Studies and University of London.
He has represented clients in notable cases before the Supreme Court of Pakistan, with his most recent succesful case being the Sunni Ittehad Council through its Chairman, Faisalabad and another v. Election Commission of Pakistan through its Secretary, Islamabad and others, more simply known as the PTI reserved seats case, in which he used his legal skill to represent PTI in the Supreme Court in the case for Pakistan’s National Assembly reserve seats. The case, which took place in July 2024 resulted in the Supreme Court ruling the ECP’s decision as wrong, resulting in a victory for PTI and justice in Pakistan. He joined the PTI in 2023 and has provided legal counsel to Imran Khan alongside Gohar Ali Khan. He was appointed as Secretary-General of PTI following Omar Ayub Khan’s resignation.
