Zartaj Gul is a women’s rights activist, politician, MNA, and core PTI member since 2005. She served as the Minister of State for Climate Change in Imran Khan’s government from 2018 to 2022, during which she advocated for a greater focus to be put on climate-related issues in Pakistan. She was born in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkwa and hails from the Wazir tribe. Gul recieved her undergraduate education from the Queen Mary College in Lahore, before attending the National College of Arts for postgraduate education.
She joined the PTI in 2005 as a member of the Insaf Student Federation. She mainly works to grow the PTI in Dera Ismail Khan. She contested in the 2013 election. Gul also contested in the 2018 and 2024 elections, and in both she won the National Assembly seat NA-185 Dera Ghazi Khan-II, by a majority of people who voted for her. She was appointed by Imran Khan to be a member of his cabinet. She remains an MNA and has stood with the PTI through turbulent times, and supports Imran Khan’s fight for justice today as an MNA and activist.
